Flower Power Superfood Smoothie

Superfood Smoothie Recipe, Flower Power, by Leanne Wierzbicki of Breathe Live Believe

I Created this superfood smoothie this morning for my 9 year old and I.  Fresh, fruity, and floral.  For all those yearning for spring (not me – I want to go skiing many more times first  ).

As with all of my superfood smoothie and elixir recipes, don’t be discouraged from trying it if you don’t have all the ingredients in the list.  Start where you are.  Use what you have on hand.  Get creative!  These recipes are designed as launch pads into the world of smoothie making.  The exact flavours may not be the same, but as long as the main base ingredients are present, it will turn out just fine!  The superfoods and herbs are add ons that increase the nutrient density of your smoothie.

Check out your local health food store, or search online to order some of the more rare ingredients.  Better yet, plan to grow or forage some of your own this year!  The rosehips and petals in this recipe were from my own garden apothecary last summer, and foraged from my neighbourhood.  So very exciting.  Well, I think so!
